LECTUERER: Prof. Wang Wenbin

LECTUERER INTRODUCTION: Prof. Wang Wenbin is the Ph.D. Supervisor and assistant president of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Wang completed his Master’s degree in Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1988, studied in Oxford University majoring in semantics and theory of translation from 1992 to1993; he studied in McGill University, Canada, majoring in syntax and semantics from 1995-1997, and pursued his PhD degree in Shanghai International Studies University, majoring in linguistics and cognitive linguistics from 2002 to 2005, and made the postdoctoral research on literature in Fudan University. Wang worked as a senior researcher of cognitive linguistics, contrastive studies of English and Chinese languages and lexical semantics at Cambridge from June to September 2013. Pro. Wang hosted 7 national and provincial programs and published over 10 monographs and translations and issued over 70 essays on CSSCI. Wang was vice-president of Ningbo University, and now is the dean of National Research Center of Foreign Language Education, BFSU, specialist of national social science fund, committee member in Ministry of Education institution of higher learning Teaching Guidance Committee of English Major Teaching, vice-chairman of China Cognitive Linguistics Association, member of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, China Association for the Philosophy of Language, and TAC.
