TOPIC: Traditional Chinese Figure Painting

CONTENT: As one of the most ancient painting genres, traditional Chinese figure paintingcovers various themes, including Taoist and Buddhist figures, wisdom beauties, and historical stories. The forms and contents of traditional Chinese figure painting embody people’s social attitudes, customs, trends, and utilitarian intentions at that time. Xu willdemonstrate the traditional Chinese figure painting against the backdrop of society as a whole.

LECTUERER INTRODUCTION: Associate Professor Xu Yuhong earned her Ph.D fromChina Academy of Art, and she is in charge of Advertising major of ZJC. Xu is also a member of International Public Relations Association of Zhejiang, chairman of labor union of Humanities School. Xu is mainly engaged in visual culture communication, art history,creation and practice of film and television works. Xu published monograph A Study of Yutaihuashi-Focus on Famine Painters’ Social Roles and Their Creation, co-authoredA Study of Hangzhou during the Republic of China: West Lake’s Scenery Cultural Communication, was the chief editor of Advertisement Archives creation, and issuedacademic essay on Shen Mingquan’s Description and Picturesque Scene.
