Theme: avoiding misunderstanding on statistics: some applications shared by Salford System Company, US by the skill of predictive analysis.
Content: the lecture will focus on the reasons and inspirations behind the misunderstandings on statistics now, and will have the prospect of using of skill of predictive analysis, which is an important field of data mining and machine learning, in applications in multi-sectors.

Brief introduction of lectuer:
Chai Lei, was data analyst of medical college of public health, West Virginia University IOEH, the founder of 8box.com, data mining analyst of riccomand, representative of Salford System, China Area, senior in data mining. In 2007, Chai become the champion of PAKDD international data mining competition, and published essay on International Journal of Data Mining and Warehousing. In addition, Chai is the chief trainer and advisor of Salford System, China Area, offer advise and training of data mining for GMAC-SAIC, Guangfa Development Bank, Ping An Bank Limited, State Grid. He is a master of mathematical statistics of West Virginia University, bachelor of mathematics in Zhejiang University, whose research area covers the prediction of modeling technique, decision tree algorithm, boosting algorithm, Recommender System and time series data modeling method.
