The 40th Teacher’s Lecture was given in Lecture Hall of Teacher and Student ActivityCenter, Shaoxing Campus on Dec.2nd. Yang Zhimin, president of School of Science andPhD tutor, delivered the lecture entitled Big Data and Deep Learning to an audience of over200.
During the lecture, Yang explained what is Big Data from the perspectives of thebackground, the main characters and other basic information of Big Data and gave the examples of Big Data in daily life. Then he explained the forefront techniques of Big Data—the inspiration, mechanism and principles of deep learning, demonstrated the application of the depth of learning with vivid and detailed examples and looked forward to the development of Big Data and deep learning. He believes that the era of big data is an inevitable trend of development of the information society. Only if we closely follow the trend of the time, make rapid adjustments in the technology, institution and values and firmly follow these adjustments so that we can get rid of the vulnerable situations in the future andgrasp the direction of development. Finally, he encouraged the students to study and professional knowledge, and constantly improve the knowledge structure, and actively participate in extracurricular technological innovation.
LECTUERER INTRODUCTION: Professor Yang Zhimin, PhD and president of School ofScience, also works as PhD tutor, master's tutor and academic tutor in ZJT. In addition,Yang serves as vice chairman of the National Association of Higher Education Management, project evaluation experts of several foundations and manuscript reviewer ofa variety of academic journals both home and abroad. And he is also the head of several projects in Zhejiang. In recent years, he has published plenty of books and papers, many of which have been embodied by SCI and EI.
