Recently, a newly made wooden loom has attracted many domestic and foreign experts and scholars who specialize in wooden loom textile history and history of science and technology on the "Silk Road of Silk" exhibition in Hangzhou West Lake Museum. It is the result of the research that Chinese relics workers have done on the unearthed loom model from Laoguan Han Tomb in Chengdu. It shows the world the structure of the Han Jacquard loom and jacquard weaving technology for the first time and fill the gap of world textile history and the history of science. Associate professor fromSchool of Design of ZJC took part in the research of restoration of the wooden loom.

A group of Han Tombs were found on Laoguan mountain in Tianhui town, Chengdu, Sichuan province and in the 2nd tomb, there were 4 jacquard models and associatedarchaeological artifacts on December 2012. This finding rewrites the history of scienceand shows that the inventions of silk technology in ancient China do exist. Therefore, this archeology has become one of China's top ten archaeological discovery in 2013.

Then an official project was set up to restore and demonstrate the jacquard technology of Han Dynasty in June,2014. Then on July 10,2014, the project was officially started.Associate professor Xia Yingchong was in the project to design the 3D media ofarchaeological artifacts and relics. And through the efforts of the whole team, the 3D media of archaeological artifacts and relics has been basically completed.

The jacquard models from Laoguan Han Tomb is so important that it provides us the firsthand information and it has extremely important academic significances forChinese culture communication on Silk Road.
