The 8th Shaoxing Games kicked off at Keqiao Gym with the first event of junior wrestling, and unveiled the volunteer team of ZJC Students. Over 2000 qualified volunteers from ZJC will serve the Games in the next 5 months. ZJC students’ participation in provincial and municipal Games as volunteers shows that ZJC has merged into Shaoxing and the students are playing their part to give the warm welcome to all the guests and players.
Responsibility
Volunteers are divided into different groups: ticketing group, registration group, broadcasting group, ceremony group, guidance group, and flexible group.
Ticketing group is responsible for the ticket booking before the Games starts. Registration group should help judges to check the information of players and volunteers are patient enough to handle this assignment. Scores and results announcement is to be finished by broadcasting group. When comes to the medal presentation section, volunteers with red chi-pao appear dynamic and lively in the ceremony. Guidance group is responsible for the march in and out of the players, which needs patience and meticulousness. Flexible group are expected to sort out the medals and certificates, and assist medical staffs.
Devotion
ZJC students, with their passion and devotion, served the Games and undertake their responsibilities with love, patience, and meticulousness. It is the first time for most of them to participate in it as volunteers, and they stick to it steadily and sincerely, even whenconfronted with obstacles, and they gradually appreciate the joy, and happiness from this work. Team-work spirit is another merit volunteers instill. They know more about the communication skills and the importance of team work. He who has never been a volunteercannot feel the hardships, and can not feel the satisfaction after the hard work. All these experiences can be life-long memories.
