ZJC Students Win 2nd Prize in Challenge Cup

In the 14th Zhejiang Challenge Cup-the extracurricular scientific project competition, Students from School of Humanities won the second prize with the work Gone Dialect-the Collection and Research of Zhejiang Ballads, which was directed by Pang Fei.

Challenge Cup was hosted by Communist Youth League Zhejiang Branch, Zhejiang Education Department, etc, and was organized by Hangzhou Dianzi University. And 225 research projects from 37 universities are qualified to be admitted in the final, which cover a wide range of fields, with 3 categories and 11 majors.

ZJC attaches importance to scientific creative activities, and also, strengthening the creativity and the practical ability in talents-cultivation is one of the goals to achieve. Based on the academic system, ZCJ keeps perfecting a series of competitions, including Zhijiang Cup, which is on the basis of Challenge Cup and keeps perfecting relative regulations and encouraging both teachers and students to participate in Challenge Cup. Challenge Cup was started up in Sep. 2014, and after preliminary, ZJC offers specific training for the final contestants in PPT presenting, oral defense skills and etiquette

Brief Introduction to the awarded project:

Gone Dialect-the Collection and Research of Zhejiang Ballads aims at the inheritance and preservation of the intangible cultural heritage. The group has visited over 10 places to inquire into the status quo of local ballads since Apr. 2013. Further more, this group also reorganized and recorded over 40 books, which are out of print now, categorized the ballads and put forward practical solutions to the ballads’ inheritance and preservation.
