The first Classical Poem Reading Competition which was sponsored by ZJC Youth League Committee, Library, and Humanity School, was held on Apr. 25th in Lecture Hall of Teacher and Student Activity Center, Shaoxing Campus, with over 250 audience attending this activities including Zheng Yaping, the CPC Secretary of ZJC branch, and other officials both from ZJC and Keqiao District, Shaoxing. Sun Changlong from Keqiao Cultural Development Centre, Sun Mei, from Keqiao Radio and Television station, Luo Zhiyao, curator of ZJC library, Lai Qianyu, dean of Humanity School, and Jiang Shan, dean of Architecture School served as judges.

18 contestants are qualified for the final competition. Contestants led audience to a world of literature by vehement or gentle tones. Yang Lingbofan from Mechanical Engineering School won the first prize. Team Chenxi from Business School, Hu Junjie and Fan Sirui from Adult Education School, and Zhu Wenjie from Humanity School won the second prize. Lou Jiajia from Tourism School won the third prize. The Creativity Award went to Wang Xinxin while Outstanding Organization Award belonged to Information Engineering School. During the competition, ZJC Student Union advocated that reading should become a daily habit for college students and they are expected to read excellent books both extensively and intensively.

This Poem Reading Competition aimed at promoting traditional culture and creating a campus imbued with the atmosphere of reading and learning.
