Recently,“Learn from LeiFeng in March”, a self-help activity, is held in 12A Zaohu Park. More than 10 “residents” who boasted crafts, signed up voluntarily to provide “inhabitants” there with about 10 free-service programs, including phones filming, bicycle mending, sewing and ironing, and so forth.

During the activity, some “traditional” service programs, like sewing and ironing, bicycle mending, phone filming, were welcomed warmly by  all “inhabitants” as usual. The glasses washing part drew great attention, which attracted lots of students. “Glasses are washed quite clearly (by volunteers). And they also give us some advice about how to protect spectacles frame and lens in daily life”, students demonstrated their praises to volunteers. Meanwhile, software installing in mending part also got a great deal of attention. “ Buying a software outside might be unstable or pricy. Hearing of such kind of service carried out by self-help workshop, I intentionally wait for it about several days.” Said by a “inhabitant” in 12B Zaohu Park.

It is reported, the self-help workshop held activities once a month. And since set up in April 2015, it has offered service for over 1000 teachers and students. Workshop aims at assembling volunteers, who possess life skills, to supply teachers and community “inhabitants” in campus with conveniences and transmit a type of spirit mixed with selflessness, devotion and enthusiasm. Through such activity, all students could attain happiness which comes from helping others, and  put “ LeiFeng Spirit” into practice during the process. At the same time, this activity also establishes the socialist core values and upholds positive energy in society.
