On December 6, 2024, Zhijiang College successfully hosted the third session of the 2024 Zhijiang Youth International Design Academic Salon. Wang Linxiang, Deputy Dean of Zhijiang College, attended the event and delivered a speech. Distinguished guests included leaders from Keqiao District's creative industry regulatory authorities, scholars from the International Design Academy at Hongik University (IDAS) in South Korea, Zhejiang University of Technology, and other renowned domestic and international design experts. Representatives from nine surrounding universities, over 30 entrepreneurs, as well as officials from Zhijiang College's Science and Research Department, Academic Affairs Office, and secondary schools, along with the leadership team and student delegates from the School of Design, participated in the salon.

In his speech, Dean Wang Linxiang emphasized that since relocating to Keqiao, Zhijiang College has focused on developing its design discipline's unique characteristics, aligning with regional economic and social development needs, and pioneering a new model of industry-education integration in collaborative education. He noted that organizing academic salons strengthens collaboration between the design academia and industry, promotes the transformation and application of research outcomes, and represents both a precise grasp of current design trends and an active exploration of future directions for design education and practice. He hoped the salon would establish communication mechanisms between academia and industry, facilitate resource integration and complementary advantages, and contribute to advancing design discipline development.

This academic salon, themed "Design Research and Collaboration in Industry-Education Integration," aimed to create a more internationalized and diversified platform for young scholars, designers, and business professionals to share cutting-edge research findings, design philosophies, and practical experiences. Five experts delivered keynote speeches on this theme.

The event marked a significant step in promoting international exchanges and cooperation for Zhijiang College's School of Design. Moving forward, the college will continue to foster research and industry-education collaboration, advance the integration process, broaden students' international horizons, enhance innovation and competitiveness in design research, and inject new vitality and inspiration into design development in Shaoxing and beyond.
