On December 5th, Professor Ken Nan, a board member of the World Design Organization (WDO), visited our college. President Jin Weiya of the college attended the reception, and representatives from the college office and the School of Design participated in the discussions.


During the meeting, Jin Weiya extended a warm welcome to Professor Ken Nah and provided a detailed introduction to the college's history, disciplinary strengths, achievements in talent cultivation, and extensive experience in international cooperation. She emphasized that Zhijiang College is committed to promoting international education and exchange, actively establishing long-term and stable cooperative relationships with universities and organizations worldwide. She expressed hope that through Professor Ken Nah's visit, Zhijiang College and the World Design Organization could initiate substantive project collaborations in areas such as student short-term programs, faculty training, and international design workshops, thereby building a broad platform for academic exchange between teachers and students.


Professor Ken Nah expressed his heartfelt thanks for the warm reception and highly praised the college's accomplishments in talent cultivation and international education. He provided a comprehensive overview of the World Design Organization's development history, its cooperation with Chinese universities, and its future prospects. He looked forward to deepening the areas of collaboration with Zhijiang College and sharing educational resources to jointly contribute to the cultivation of design talents with international perspectives and innovative capabilities.

During the meeting, Jin Weiya presented Professor Ken Nah with a letter of appointment as a specially appointed professor at Zhijiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology.


Following the meeting, accompanied by the head of the School of Design, Professor Ken Nah visited the Shaoxing Industrial Internet College and the Textile and Apparel Laboratory.


Profile: The World Design Organization (WDO), formerly known as the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design, was established in 1957. Along with the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda) and the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), WDO is one of the world's three major professional designer organizations. WDO brings together the most abundant high-level academic and professional resources in global industrial design and is the most influential international organization in advancing cutting-edge research in international industrial design and cultural exchange in the field of design. The organization is responsible for the globally accepted standard definition of industrial design in the academic field and operates high-level international design event brands such as the World Design Congress, World Design Capital, World Industrial Design Day, and the World Design Impact Prize.
